Colour used to be normal in a house

Somewhere between the seventies and now, homes got very careful. Greige walls, grey sofas, everything chosen so it would go with everything else. Safe, and a little sad.

Sunsecca started from a simple idea: that a room is allowed to have something in it that you chose because you liked it, not because it matched.

Woven, not printed

Every throw we sell has its pattern woven into the cloth rather than printed on top of it. The colour is in the yarn itself.

It costs more to make that way, and it takes longer. It also means both faces are finished, so the blanket is reversible — and it means the pattern cannot crack, peel or wash out, because there is no surface layer to lose.

Built to be used

Our throws are sized to actually cover a bed or a sofa, not to be folded decoratively over an armrest. They go in the machine. They get softer every wash. They are made to end up on the chair someone sits in every evening, not kept for guests.
